Brought to you by Freemans Auctioneers, The Circuit, with Caroline Stewart, takes you to the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Skyline Room for a talk with Iron Chef Jose Garces. Become a regular of our new blog to keep up with the hottest philanthropic events.
Iron Chef Jose Garces, whose growing culinary empire in five cities includes Philadelphia restaurants Amada, Chifa, and Tinto, is making the rounds to promote his latest book, “The Latin Road Home: Savoring the Foods of Ecuador, Spain, Cuba, Mexico and Peru.” The book features the cuisines that have most inspired Garces and his interpretations on classic Latin and Spanish recipes.
Before Garces gave his talk Oct. 15 with food writer Michael Klein at the Free Library’s Parkway Central location, he joined 150 members of the George S. Pepper Society at a reception held at the Library’s Skyline Room and its Terrace. The Pepper Society is a Library donor group of about 375 households who annually give $1,000 or more to the Free Library Foundation.
