Fitness pros hit Main Street for Play! Manayunk festival
Held at the brand new Venice Island Performing Arts & Recreation Center on Saturday, Play Manayunk! was a celebration of all things recreation, fitness, and fun.
The event, hosted for the first time by the Manayunk Development Corporation, brought out over 15 workout and fitness studios in an effort connect them with the residents.
Dressed in their gym best, visitors were able to participate in recreation activities such as yoga, kayaking, cycling, rowing, running and dragon boating. Kids had fun in the recess area that was complete with games, crafts, a moon bounce and face painting.
“We hope it becomes and annual event. It’s really about getting people to know what’s behind Main Street and knowing that Venice Island Performing Arts & Recreation Center is down here and that this is a really good space for families to enjoy” said Manayunk Development Corporation marketing director Caitlin Maloney.
