Feeding America President visits Food Bank of Delaware

The President and CEO of the nation’s largest hunger-relief charity is in Delaware today, visiting the Food Bank of Delaware.

Feeding America’s Vicki Escarra is spending part of her day volunteering in the Food Bank of Delaware’s kitchen, making sandwiches for kids’ summer programs across the state. Escarra also plans to meet with volunteers and staff to learn more about the food bank’s operations and brainstorm ways Feeding America and the Food Bank of Delaware can work in partnership to feed more Delawareans.

The Food Bank of Delaware distributes between seven and 10 million pounds of food and groceries each year. However, the food bank says donations were down by three million pounds last fiscal year.
