Feds give Philly schools $64 million

The Philadelphia Public Schools Notebook’s Erika Owens reports that $64.4 million in federal 21st Century Community Learning Center grants are coming to Philadelphia nonprofits involved in schools, earmarked for programming outside of traditional school hours. That’s the good news; the bad news is that the grants won’t help the School District of Philadelphia with its massive budget deficit. Oh well.
