Fatal early morning fire near Rehoboth

One victim was found under debris after the mobile home fire was extinguished.

Firefighters were called to the Sea Air Mobile Village north of Rehoboth Beach on Tuesday morning around 5 a.m. Crews from Rehoboth Beach, Lewes and Indian River fought the flames at the home at 19940 Center Ave for about three hours.

It wasn’t until the fire was out that crews found a body under the debris.

Fire officials have not released the identity of the victim. The State Fire Marshal and State Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
