Ex-Senate candidate O’Donnell ordered to explain finances

A federal judge overseeing the Federal Election Commission’s lawsuit against former GOP Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell has ordered O’Donnell to provide information about her finances.
The judge on Monday ordered O’Donnell to submit documents by March 15 showing her income, assets and liabilities for 2014 and 2015.
The judge said the information is relevant to O’Donnell’s ability to disgorge funds or pay a civil penalty. In lieu of providing the documents, she can waive any argument regarding her inability to pay.
The lawsuit claims O’Donnell used at least $20,000 in campaign contributions to pay bills at a townhouse that also served as her 2010 campaign headquarters.
O’Donnell, who famously proclaimed during the campaign that she was not a witch, has denied any wrongdoing, calling the lawsuit a “witch hunt.”
