Earlier New Year’s Eve fireworks display offers family-friendly revelry in Philly
ListenFireworks will light up the Philadelphia sky not once but twice tonight as the region celebrates New Year’s Eve.
Partyers can enjoy the midnight fireworks show, “Party on the Waterfront,” boasting a pop song playlist and a high-energy pyrotechnics display.
But for families with young children and revelers trying to hit the hay early, the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation is also putting on a fireworks show at 6 p.m. In an attempt to appeal to people of all ages, this show will be a tribute to composer John Williams, whose work can be heard in a wide range of landmark movies, from “Star Wars” to “Home Alone” to “Superman.”
