Dog of the Week: Tom Tom

Hey cool people! Looking for a little bit of fun? My name is Tom Tom (A13399511), and I’m the handsome, spunky boy for you!

I’m a 9- to 12-month-old mixed breed dog living at the city shelter at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave. I got lost one day and was picked up and brought here as a stray. My original family never came in for me – I think they may have gotten lost too, because I’m such a nice boy. I love to cuddle and smoosh my head in your lap. I like people and I love to be pet and I don’t mind being handled all over.

I’m a medium-energy guy, I’m playful, I love toys and I’m friendly with other dogs! I would probably be very happy if you had a yard where I could chase a ball, or if you wanted to take me running with you. When I met some cats, I was totally cool but I can totally be retested if you have cats and are interested in adopting or fostering me. If you have dogs, we’ll need to meet before you adopt or foster me because we want to make sure we can all be friends!

Because I’m a younger dude, I’m going to need some education in my new home. Just basics though. And guess what? Because I’m special, I’m part of the Pen Pal program, which means I have a really cool volunteer who comes to the shelter to work just with me on all the stuff I’ll need to know to make it in your house. She’s teaching me how to sit, lay down, and how to walk nicely on a leash. Since I really like treats, and toys, so much that I will do all my tricks for them, she says I will be very easy to keep training! Before adoption, I’ll be neutered and microchipped. I’m already up to date on all my shots.
