Delaware teen arrested after gun found in locker

A Wilmington high school student is behind bars for bringing a loaded handgun to school.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, a 15-year-old male was arrested on Wednesday after teachers found a loaded .32-caliber revolver inside his locker at The New Moyer Academy on the 600 block of East 17th Street.

The WPD reported that at approximately 3:20 p.m., a student notified school staff that another student was in possession of a gun. After the school was placed on temporary lockdown, police recovered the revolver, along with 9.6 grams of marijuana and a BB gun.

The teen, who police have not identified, was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center and faces firearms and drug charges.
