Delaware student near top of national cyber security competition

Gavy Aggarwal of Newark, who attends the Charter School of Wilmington, took second place in the 2012 Spring Cyber Foundations competition.

The organizers of the competition say the goal is to identify and those who might become the future cyber guardians of the United States.  Delaware schools are a part of the national Cyber Foundation, which sponsors the event. In the state it is made up of representatives from the Department of Technology and Information, the University of Delaware, Wilmington University, and Delaware Technical and Community College.

This is the second year that Aggarwal has scored near the top.  He was first in the 2011 Cyber Foundations event. Jacob Davis of Newark, who also attends the Charter School of Wilmington scored 19th in the nation. Fourteen other Delaware high school students participated; three of whom ranked in the top 40.
