Delaware school district discusses proposed Montessori partnership

New Castle County’s Christina School District holds a community meeting tonight on its proposed partnership with First State Montessori.

It would be the first public school Montessori program in Delaware.  Under the proposal, a Montessori school program would be phased in at two locations.  One would be in the City of Wilmington.  Another would be located in the suburban portion of the district.  Superintendent Marcia Lyles welcomes public comment at a meeting tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Gauger Cobbs Middle School, 50 Gender Road in Newark.  A second meeting will be held Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Bancroft Elementary School, 700 North Lombard Street in Wilmington.  The Christina Board of Education will discuss the proposal at its next meeting October 11th.  For more information call 302-552-2670 or visit www.christina.k12.de.us
