Delaware Park racing canceled due to extreme heat

Delaware Park is canceling today’s scheduled live racing program due to forecast temperatures in the upper 90s.

The decision to keep the horses from racing was made by Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission Chief Veterinarian Dr. John T. Peters.  Peters said racing under such extreme conditions could “pose substantial health risks to horses, riders and participants.”
