Two talented song-and-dance men (Bing Crosby & Danny Kaye) –reserve officers–team up after the war with a sister act (Rosemary Clooney & Vera-Ellen) and trek to Vermont for a white Christmas. Shenanigans begin when they discover that the inn they’ve chosen is run by their old army general, who’s in financial trouble.  Theatre N at Nemours, December 24th, 11 A.M.

The Wizard of Oz

A tornado whisks young Dorothy to a strange land and an all-seeing Wizard in the epic musical The Wizard of Oz. Featuring all the characters and songs from the classic movie, The Wizard of Oz will take audiences of all ages on a breathtaking journey down the yellow brick road, through the Emerald City, and into the eyes of the Wizard himself. You’re not in Kansas any more!  Wilmington Drama League, December 23rd – 30th.

 

 

The Spring Standards

The Spring Standards play all kinds of music, but all of it is energetic, melodic and fun.  Arden loves these folks and we look forward to Boxing Day every year since we know it will be high energy and filled with fans.  The band has been recording new EPs and they will share these new songs with us on this special Monday Boxing Day show. Arden Gild Hall, December 26th, 8 P.M.

When notary Lebel sits down with Jeanne and Simon Marwan to read them their mother Nawal’s will, the twins are stunned to receive a pair of envelopes – one for the father they thought was dead and another for a brother they didn’t know existed. With Lebel’s help, the twins piece together the story of the woman who brought them into the world, discovering a tragic fate as well as the courage of an exceptional woman. Movies at Midway, December 30th, 7 P.M.
