The Center trains union members already working in the health care industry – as well as non-union workers hoping to join the field.
Onorato said it’s important to fund training programs, but he’s not afraid to take a critical look at those that aren’t working.
“You wanna make sure if we’re going to put our limited tax dollars that we have – and these are tough times – that we’re getting the biggest bang for our dollars, that we’re actually seeing results. I’m committed to making sure that we have the training dollars that we need, the training facilities that we need, but not afraid to evaluate the ones that might not be producing.”
Onorato faces Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett, a Republican, in the general election.
