Councilman boasts fund raiser appealing to LGBTQA fan base

A Philadelphia City Councilman is having an unusual fundraiser Thursday.  It’s being billed as a “Drag Queen Extravaganza” at Rosewood cocktail bar and will raise campaign dollars for councilman Jim Kenney.  The Councilman says he’s pleased that his supporters are throwing him the event.

“We have a very diverse city. I’m a city councilman at-large. I have numerous supporters in the LGBTQA community. It’s a blast; its fun. It’s campy and it’s a good time.”Kenney says he had a fundraiser like this last year as well.”There’s no truth to the rumor that I am going to get dressed as a drag queen, but there will be very talented divas in attendance.”Kenny has dressed in satin and feathers in the past, as a mummer in the Fancy Brigades.
