Cops: Beanie Sigel was not target of shooting

Police do not believe wounded rapper Beanie Sigel was the intended target of a shooting at his brother-in-law’s New Jersey home.

Pleasantville police Lt. Danny Adcock tells The Philadelphia Inquirer Sigel may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The 40-year-old, whose real name is Dwight Grant, remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition. He was shot in the abdomen Friday after dropping his children off at school.

Adcock says officers found the rapper’s brother-in-law with scrapes and bruises to his face and arms but aren’t sure how they happened. Adcock says “cooperation from the family is minimal.”
