Conservative activist seeks GOP gubernatorial nod
Conservative activist Seth Grossman will challenge New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie for the Republican Party’s gubernatorial nomination.
The former Atlantic City councilman and Atlantic County freeholder formally announced his plans during a news conference Tuesday in Atlantic City. He also planned a similar event in Newark on Tuesday night.
Grossman says he entered the race to challenge the GOP establishment, claiming Christie has been wrongly perceived as a conservative.
Grossman’s news conference in Atlantic City was held not far from the Revel casino. Grossman has opposed the tax incentives that allowed Revel to finish construction. He believes city residents should have been able to vote on the tax break.
