Columbus Farmers Market is a shop-till-you-drop kind of place

The Columbus Farmers Market is really big. We’re talking 200 acreas big. That scale means variety on an epic scale. 

Every weekend huge crowds turn out to bargain hunt among the endless rows of vendors selling everything from tea pots, tractors to tomatoes. It’s located on Route 206 in Columbus, N.J. about five miles north east of Mt. Holly. 

The market is made up of two sections – the “used” open-air flea market area and 65 stores inside the main building. The market’s website explains why the flea market is so large. It started as a cattle and horse auction and kept getting bigger. 

One vendor uses the Columbus Farmers Market as a place to resell things he finds hunting at estate and yard sales. Juan Rodriguez says he likes this market because its location can draw customers from a large region, “This is the most convenient location for people from Pennsylvania, New York and of course New Jersey to come for their bargain shopping” he said.

FROM THE NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE: Take Exit 7 of the New Jersey Turnpike. Go south on Route 206 for 4 miles. The Market will be on your right.

FROM INTERSTATE ROUTE 295: Take Exit 52A off of Route 295. Continue 3 miles into the town of Columbus. Get on Route 206 South and continue for 1 mile. The Market will be on your right.
