In his budget address Tuesday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie pushed back against Monday’s court ruling that ordered the state to make full payment to its pension systems.

“The numbers do not lie, and we don’t need any court to tell us we have a serious problem,” he admitted, but went on to add, “I have stood behind this podium for five years speaking candidly about this problem.”

NewsWorks Tonight host Dave Heller and John Reitmeyer, budget and finance writer for NJ Spotlight.com, discussed  Christie’s evaluation of the pension situation and the other points he touched on in the speech.
