Chestnut Hill College 2012 graduation photos

Chestnut Hill College held its largest graduation ceremony ever with 351 bachelor degrees, 219 graduate degrees as well as 30 doctoral degrees awarded on Saturday. The outdoor ceremony was held under a large white tent. Former WPVI weatherman Dave Roberts was this year’s graduation speaker and he brought with him perfect weather with sunny skies and temperatures in the 70’s (Thanks Dave). Roberts received an Honorary Degree from Chestnut Hill College on Saturday.

Barbara D’Iorio Martino ’60, chair of the board of directors received the Chestnut Hill Medal.

The class of 2012 is entering an improving job market. The L.A. Times reports that the National Assn. of Colleges and Employers found that businesses expect to hire 9.5% more college graduates this year than last. “Employers are now more optimistic about the college labor market than at any time since 2007,” its report stated.
