Knife-wielding man nets $43 in Germantown car-rental location robbery

Police are searching for a man who robbed the Germantown Enterprise Rent-A-Car on West Chelten Avenue Monday afternoon.

At about 12:12 p.m., the man entered the store at 217 W. Chelten Ave. and asked about a rental car. He stepped away from the counter and returned moments later, brandishing a knife.

Police said he ordered everyone to get on the floor and demanded money, escaping with $43 in cash and fled east on Chelten Avenue by foot.

The suspect — a black male in his 40s with a dark complexion — was about 5-foot-8, 185 pounds with a mustache, scruffy beard and was wearing all black clothing and a black ski cap at the time of the robbery.
