Charles Barkley schools Phoenixville students on the importance of education

Students from Phoenixville’s Renaissance Academy welcomed a hulking visitor yesterday who talked to them about life, sports and the importance of education.

NBA star Charles Barkley stopped by the school to address 500 students on his career and the mistakes he’s made along the way.

He said the things most celebrity speakers do, as noted in this Phoenix report, encouraging the students to listen to their parents, avoid repeating mistakes and stay in school.
And though the word mistake came up often and Barkley hinted at some major ones his friends had made, his DUI arrest and gambling issues didn’t come up.
