Chamber of Commerce gives ‘accolades’

More than 175 Northeast residents gathered Friday to honor two regional staples.

The Accolades Ball, hosted by the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and held at the historic Knowlton Mansion at Rhawn Street and Verree Road, is an annual event, which marks the GNPCC’s anniversary while celebrating community members for “outstanding success and continuing commitment to the advancement of the organization and region.”

For its 87th anniversary, the Chamber honored Fox Chase Cancer Center and William St. Clair of St. Clair CPA Solutions.

“The recipients tonight are truly worthy of these honors,” said Sally Danciu, owner of Sally’s Flowers in Fox Chase and chair of the Accolades Ball.

Amidst performances by the David Christopher Orchestra and food to complement the Taste of Tuscany theme, the recipients were honored with video tributes before receiving their awards.

Fox Chase Cancer Center, established in 1974, was awarded the Crystal Vision award, and St. Clair received the Fellowship award.

“This is a night to celebrate,” said GNPCC President Al Taubenberger. “We are celebrating the work of two outstanding members . . . and were celebrating our members’ commitment to keep the Greater Northeast Chamber strong and viable.”
