Carbon monoxide leak sickens kids at N.J. skating rink

Seven children were treated at hospitals after an apparent carbon monoxide leak made them sick at a central New Jersey skating rink.

It’s still not clear what caused the leak at the Ice Land Skating Center in Hamilton Township (Mercer County), which was reported around 10:30 a.m. Saturday. But all the children sickened by the leak are expected to recover.

Authorities say they found a high level of carbon monoxide inside the building, but further details were not immediately available. They also said some people affected by the leak declined medical treatment.
