Camden Diocese seeks to sell nursing homes

The Camden Diocese is seeking to sell its three nursing homes. The diocese says insufficient Medicaid reimbursements created a $6 million shortfall last year.

In a statement, Bishop Dennis Sullivan says the current nursing-home model cannot be sustained.

The diocese says proceeds from the sale would be directed toward assisting families with a wide range of health-related issues.

The diocese will ask prospective buyers to maintain the homes’ Catholic identity.
