Bill Green suggests eliminating School Reform Commission to improve education

What would the School District of Philadelphia look like if there were no School Reform Commission.

Allow Councilman Bill Green to help you envision that. He’s drawn up a policy paper with education reform recommendations, and eliminating the SRC happens to be one of his suggestions. In its place, Green would like to see a a mayor-appointed Board of Education and a statewide reform entity.

Green calls the district too big to succeed and recommends, “a new, nimble structure that emphasizes complete overhaul of failing schools and restores local control over the many public schools that are already working for our children.”
