Bike Survey Submitted to DelDOT
The survey will be used to formulate Bike Delaware’s first ever position statement.
The purpose of the survey, and the pending position statement, is to determine the need for designated bike lanes through intersections. The poll of nearly 200 bicyclists shows strong support for the lanes. It also showed that drivers making right hand turns at intersections are considered to be one of the biggest threats to bikers. The advocacy group hopes to submit their study to DelDOT’s bicycle coordinator for submission in Delaware’s Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
