Become a community correspondent

NewsWorks community correspondents can cover stories and write essays on their neighborhoods on an assigned, piece-rate basis. They are independent freelancers, not staff members. They receive training from NewsWorks staff at WHYY’s Hamilton Media Commons. For more information, send an e-mail to, with your name, neighborhood, contact information and a description of the kind of work you’d like to do: reporting, essays, photography, videography, blogging etc.
