Atlantic Cape Community College closes campuses due to threat

A southern New Jersey community college has shuttered its three campuses due to a “vague threat” it received.

Atlantic Cape Community College announced the closings in a message posted on its web site early Tuesday afternoon, saying it acted on the “advice of local authorities.” It also says, “Do not come to any campus until further notice.”

The school provided no further details on the threat, which was called in to the Mays Landing campus, or what it entailed.

Officials declined further comment.

Besides Mays Landing, the school also has campuses in Cape May Court House and Atlantic City. It told students and area residents to stay away from the campuses until further notice.
