Authorities say a shootout on a New Jersey highway has left one person dead and four hurt.
State police were investigating a car on the Garden State Parkway in Egg Harbor Township Monday and an SUV covered with bullet holes in the parking lot of a convenience store near a highway exit.
Police say they received reports of a shooting on the Atlantic City Expressway Monday around 3 p.m., followed by calls for medical assistance a few miles away on the Garden State Parkway and at the Wawa.
There are bullet holes in the front windshield and on the passenger side door of the SUV at the Wawa.
One rear tire was completely gone and there are drag marks in the area.
Police said the victims were taken to a hospital. Their conditions weren’t immediately known.
