Arrest made in year-old hit-and-run death in Newark, Del.

Nearly a year after a 76-year-old woman was hit and killed while crossing the street in Newark, police have arrested the man they believe was behind the wheel of the car that hit her.

Helen Yang was crossing Library Avenue on the evening of April 30, 2012, when she was hit by a car that kept on going after the collision.  After receiving information that 26-year-old Ryan Wroten of Newark may have been involved in the crash, Newark Police seized his Honda Accord in early July.

After sending evidence to the FBI Crime Lab in Quantico, Virginia, forensic analysts confirmed that Wroten’s vehicle was linked to the crash.

Wroten was arrested at his home on Beagle Club Way in Newark on Wednesday.  He’s now facing charges of leaving the scene of a collision causing death.  He’s been released after posting $1,000 secured bail.
