Monday, April 1, 6:30pm, film starts at 7pm. Center for Architecture, 1218 Arch Street. Architecture in Film, hosted by John DeFazio, architect and Associate Professor at Drexel University, continues this month with the 1967 Bond classic: You Only Live Twice. $10 donation requested at the door.

LECTURE: BUILDING PHILADELPHIA: Colonial Capitol to the Athens of America

Tuesday, April 2, 6-8pm, Center for Architecture, 1218 Arch St. As part of the 10-part lecture series about the architecture, history and politics of Philadelphia, Richard Webster, West Chester University Professor Emeritus, will discuss Philadelphia’s evolution from Colonial Capitol into the “Athens of America,” and the era’s Georgian, Federal, & Greek Revival architecture. Individual lectures cost $20, $15 for AIA and Preservation Alliance members, $10 for students/AIA Associates. Register online.

Fest: The Porch Opening Celebration

Wednesday, April 3, 11:30am-2:30pm. The Porch at 30th Street Station, 30th and Market streets. Celebrate spring with the kickoff of fair-weather programming at The Porch on Wednesday: Grab lunch from a food truck (Lucky Old Souls, The Cow and The Curd, Cupcake Carnival  and The Sunflower Truck Stop will be on hand), and take in performances from Dante Bucci, busking as part of WXPN Philly Local’s Wednesday programming, and the Give and Take Street Performers. Free.

Lecture: Snøhetta’s Craig Dykers

Thursday, April 4, 6-7:30pm reception, 7:30pm lecture. Temple Performing Arts Center, 1837 North Broad Street. Snøhetta’s Craig Dykers will give a talk during Temple Architecture Week. Snøhetta, a Norwegian-based design firm,  created the design for the National September 11 Memorial and Museum and has been selected to design Temple’s new library on North Broad Street. $35 general admission, $10 for students with ID, Free for Tyler students.
