Another shooting in Nicetown
Nicetown was the scene of another shooting death yesterday after 30-year old Alonso Guy drove to Temple University Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds but was pronounced dead early last night.
According to police, Guy was shot multiple times in the torso on the 1800 block of West Cayuga Street at about 3:25 p.m. Somehow he drove himself to the hospital but could not be saved, police said.
The shooting occurred only a few blocks from the killing of 26-year old Saleem Garland on the 1700 block of W. Juniata Street just over a week ago. In that killing police found Garland in a car with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and buttocks.
Police say they are aware of the proximity of the two murders but have not yet determined if they are connected. Both cases remain under investigation and police have announced no suspects or motives in either crime.
