Annual Harry Potter festival brings witches and wizards to Germantown Avenue [photos]

The Harry Potter Festival in Chestnut Hill, which took place this past weekend, has become the biggest festival for Potter-fans around.

The neighborhood transforms into the village Hogsmeade from the famous set of books. Witches, wizards and other familiar characters from the books wander up and down Germantown Avenue while wandmaking, owl demonstration, face painting, a Wizard Chess tournament and Defense Against the Dark Arts classes take place.

At Chestnut Hill College, seven Quidditch teams competed in a tournament, running with broomsticks, catching the snitch and following the rules as much as possible in accordance to the book.
