A man and a woman have died after being pulled from the water off Atlantic City.

The Atlantic City Beach Patrol says the two were among a larger group in the water near a jetty at the beach off Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Saturday night. The spot is north of the Claridge Casino Hotel.

Beach patrol Chief Rod Aluise identified the victims as Samuel Jackson of Lowell, Mass., and Theinco Ceasar of Darby, Pa. Both were in their 20s.

Aluise says the pair was near a sandbar about 20 to 30 yards offshore in a spot where the water drops off sharply.
