From the director’s desk, Feb. 15

Dear PlanPhilly member,

Thanks to all those who attended Monday’s public forum at Saint Peter’s School (full story at http://www.planphilly.com/node/937).  Unfortunately, we had to cancel our meeting scheduled for Tuesday in Northern Liberties, but we have now announced a NEW date and location!

Monday, February 19: Saint Anne’s Social Hall, corner of Memphis and Tucker Streets

In addition, please note that the date for our third forum has not changed.

Tuesday, February 20: Furness High School, 1900 South Third Street, Pennsport

Light dinner and registration begins at 5:30 p.m., at the meeting itself will run from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

We understand that the time constraints due to the late rescheduling of the second forum, but we hope you can still attend.  Your participation is vital, as the principles we develop at these forums will be the foundation for the design of the waterfront vision.

Advisory Group/Steering Committee Meeting

The Steering Committee of the Central Delaware Waterfront Advisory Group has been rescheduled from February 19th to Monday, February 26.  The Advisory Group will meet the following Monday, March 5, to discuss takeaways from the design workshop.  As usual, each meeting will be held at 1515 Arch Street, 18th floor.
Breakfast will begin at 7:30 so the meeting can start promptly at 8.  All Advisory Group and Steering Committee meetings are open to the public, so all are encouraged to attend and participate.

Design Visioning Workshop

Mark your calendars for the Central Delaware’s design visioning workshop, March 1-3.  Dozens of designers have already agreed to participate and begin to help us imagine a new waterfront based on the planning principles derived from the work done in our public forums.  Check out exclusive interview with some of the top designers, only at PlanPhilly: http://www.planphilly.com/node/912.

Opportunities for public involvement currently include:

1. Formal presentation by PennPraxis of the Planning Principles and Design Teams — late afternoon Thursday, March 1 2. An informal design review of initial concepts led by the Design Advocacy Group – late afternoon Friday, March 2 3. Formal presentation and discussion of each design team’s ideas – late afternoon Saturday, March 3
