SEPTA’s new timetables

SEPTA has been rolling out a number of service changes over the past week as it releases new timetables.

New subway, bus and trolley timetables went into effect last Sunday and Monday.

Updated regional rail schedules will go into effect this Sunday and Monday.

The new timetables will decrease wait times between evening rush hour trains on the R2 Warminster, R5 Doylestown and R6 Norristown lines.

Spacing on weekday afternoon trains along the R3 West Trenton line will be increased to allow for track maintenance work and brush cutting.

SEPTA regularly updates its timetables to take into account construction and maintenance work, and some of the changes being implemented are “summer-schedule related,” SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch wrote in an e-mail.

The agency continually monitors ridership trends and adjusts schedules to meet changing costumer needs, though it does not have a set number of times in the year during which it makes changes, he added.

The new regional rail timetables are available at the three Center City train stations, and all new timetables can be found at SEPTA.org.
