University City Review: Lancaster Ave receives piece of the $13 million pie for small businesses
Standing in front of Villa, 4034 Lancaster Ave, last Sunday, February 8th, Mayor Michael Nutter and Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development Andrew Altman announced two programs directing $13 million to development and small businesses along high-potential corridors across the city.
Funds directed towards the Lancaster Avenue corridor will include a $200,000 grant to the 3900 and 4000 blocks of Lancaster Avenue to be administered through the Peoples Emergency Center and the Peoples Emergency Center Community Development Corporation (PECCDC). Another grant in the amount $617,000 was awarded to 3820 Lancaster Avenue LLC for apartment and office space.
“I’m so happy to announce 13 million in new resources and spending throughout our community corridors in Philadelphia,” said Mayor Nutter after thanking a hosts of community organizations as well as Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell for making the project possible.
