81-year old Lewes man crashes into Delaware home

Delaware State Police have identified the 81 year old Lewes man killed when he crashed into a home off of Route 9 in Lewes on Monday.

Edward Legenski of Lewes drove his 2010 Toyota Sienna into a home on Whitehaven Way just before 9 on Monday.  He was pronounced dead after being taken to Bebee Memorial Hospital.

State Police are still looking into why Legenski, who was traveling westbound, swerved off Route 9 and into the housing development.  There was no one in the home at the time of the crash.

The side of the home was demolished when the car crashed into it.  Police said the car had swerved into on coming traffic.  The car left the south side of the road and on to the north side before crashing.
