The Philadelphia Center for Architecture presents DesignPhiladephia! Explore the world of design from all weekend long at locations throughout the city. With over 130 events there is sure to be something for everyone. Events include lectures, demonstrations and workshops. Most events are free and open to the public. Friday: Philly Photo DayFriday is Philly Photo Day! All Philly residents are encouraged to capture “a day in the life” of Philly during this day long event. No fancy equipment necessary. Photos must be uploaded by Oct. 14 to the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center to be included in the display. See official website for uploading instructions.
Friday through Sunday: Pumpkinland LinvillaPumpkins, scarecrows and mazes oh, my! You don’t want to miss Linvilla Orchards annual Pumpkinland boasting over 100 tons of pumpkins on display. Whether you’re picking your own apples, enjoying a hayride tour, or having fun getting lost in a corn maze, this event is sure to be a blast for the whole family. Open through early November.
Fall is the perfect time to immerse yourself in nature, and what better place to do that than at an arboretum? On Saturday, Awbury celebrates fall with music, vendors, pumpkin painting, hayrides and kids activities. Free event admission, with hayride tickets, food, and vendor items available for sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Explore Old City’s architecture, history and culture during its 2nd annual Old City Fest Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Featuring live music, pop up theatrical performances and numerous food vendors. Streets in and around 2nd and Arch streets will be open only to pedestrians.
