The United States is lagging behind other developed countries when it comes to infrastructure management and development, according to a panel of experts at the Urban Land Institute’s infrastructure forum on Thursday, May 15, at The Union League.

Speakers from both public and private sectors talked about ways to address the growing infrastructure problems in the Philadelphia region, including public-private partnerships, innovative funding, and the need to create sustainable communities.

Former Mayor of Indianapolis Dr. William H. Hudnut was the keynote speaker, and the forum consisted of two separate panels—one comprised of state transportation officials from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, and one comprised of experts from the private sector.
