15-year-old charged in Wilmington murder

Wilmington police said a 15-year-old suspect is accused of killing a 32-year-old man Saturday morning.

The victim, Jason Turner, was shot and killed during an attempted robbery around 10 a.m. The shooting happened in the 800 block of N. Pine St.

Detectives conducted interviews in the neighborhood which led them to identify the suspect who they arrested later Saturday evening.

Police also arrested a 16-year-old Wilmington male who is accused of trying to hide the gun for the shooting suspect. A third suspect, a 17-year-old male from Wilmington, was also arrested for providing false statements to police.
