1 dead in 15 car pile-up on the NJ Turnpike near Exit 8A

A New Jersey highway pileup involving 15 or more vehicles including box trucks and a bus has left at least one person dead and several others injured.

New Jersey State Police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Flynn says state troopers will have more to say later Tuesday.

The accident occurred Monday night during a mix of rain and snow flurries and below-freezing temperatures on the New Jersey Turnpike in Cranbury (Exit 8A). The vehicles involved in the crash include several cars, four tractor-trailers, two box trucks and a fully loaded bus.

The agency that manages the turnpike says a tractor-trailer jackknifed on the roadway near a service area.
