13 year old Delaware boy shot near downtown Wilmington

Wilmington police are currently investigating a shooting that a left an unidentified boy with a bullet wound in his lower back.

At approximately 8:41 Thursday night, police were called to the 1000 block of North Madison Street. That’s where they found the teen victim who was immediately transported to Christiana Hospital. As of Friday morning, the boy was last listed in critical condition, according to police.

Police are not releasing too many details, at this time, about surveillance video that may have captured the incident, but tell WHYY reporters, anyone with information about the crime is encouraged to call the Delaware Crimestoppers hotline at 1-800-TIP-3333.
