Are we on the verge of a new civil rights movement?
ListenGuests: James Peterson and Donald Tibbs
Protests over the fatal shooting of Michael Brown and the chokehold death of Eric Garner by police continue across the country. The demonstrations have been fueled by anger and frustration over police mistreatment, particularly of black men, and the grand jury verdicts which failed to indict the police officers. Do these events and the resulting unrest signal a new civil rights movement? And what does it take to see real change when it comes to policing and the black community? Our guests are JAMES PETERSON of Lehigh University and DONALD TIBBS of Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law
