ListenHour 2
After a long search, The Philadelphia Orchestra announced yesterday that 35 year-old Canadian-born conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin has been appointed its next Music Director. He’ll start immediately as the Music Director Designate for two seasons and will take on the full role of Music Director in the 2012-13 season. PETER DOBRIN and DAVID PATRICK STEARNS both of the Philadelphia Inquirer join Marty to talk about our new maestro and the future of the Philadelphia Orchestra under his leadership. We’ll also hear from Montreal Gazette music critic ARTHUR KAPTAINIS.
