    On Tuesday, Democrat Bonnie Watson Coleman prevailed at the polls in New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District, becoming the first woman elected to federal office in the Garden State in over a decade. In fact, she’ll be the only female representative of the three-state region in the next Congress.

    Kelly Dittmar, assistant professor of political science at Rutgers Camden and author of the forthcoming book, “Navigating Gender Terrain: Stereotypes and Strategies in Political Campaigns,” discussed gender-based differences in the way women and men run for office with NewsWorks Tonight host Dave Heller.
