GUESTS: BRADLEY COLLINS & DAN ROMER
According to the Center for Disease Control tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States. The Philadelphia Department of Public Health ranks the city among the most high of adult smokers in the top 10 U.S. cities. And those smokers who live in underserved areas like North Philadelphia tend to smoke about 10 percent more than the general population. We’ll talk about what is being done to help with smoking cessation for those who may need the most support with BRADLEY COLLINS, associate professor of public health at Temple University. Also joining us is DAN ROMER, Director of the Adolescent Communication Institute of the Annenberg Public Policy Center, who studies messaging and smoking.
