Vitamania

Guest: Catherine Price

Most Americans get plenty of A, C, D, E, K and B vitamins — few of us suffer from vitamin deficiencies. But that doesn’t stop us from taking extra nutritional supplements in hopes that they will give us more energy, boost our IQ, or keep cancer at bay. We seem to believe that if small amounts of vitamins are good for us, then taking a lot is better. But that’s not the case says CATHERINE PRICE, author of the new book Vitamania: Our Obsessive Quest for Nutritional Perfection. She tells Marty that about the history, science and marketing of vitamins.
