Traffic trends
Philadelphia traffic trends. One of the consequences of urban sprawl has been increased traffic to roads that were never intended to handle such heavy traffic. To help us understand how things changed, we’ll talk with two of the region’s longest serving traffic reporters JOHN BUTTERWORTH and SAM CLOVER. The two of them worked for the Arco Go Patrol traffic service in the 1980s, and are still on the air, both at Shadow Traffic. Clover can be heard weekday mornings on KYW 1060a, and Butterworth can be heard weekdays on four radio stations including WHYY-FM.
